Empowering Rural
woman for Healthy Communities |
|
|
| |
Location: Dhamar governorate; elHada'
district |
|
|
| |
Rural women are the focus of this
project
because they have less access to health services than any other sector
of society. The aim of this project is to train female health workers to
improve the situation of women in their communities. This aim was
pursued by visiting Health Units in a number of villages and training
the female health professionals there and improving their clinical
skills.
There is an estimated 10 000
people living in the project area, most of whom are woman and children.
A marked increase in visits to the community by health professionals is
just one of the visible results of this project that has been active for
4 years now. |

Laboratory
Consultancy Project |
|
|
| |
Location: Taiz
and Ibb governorates; Taiz, Ibb and Jibla |
|
|
| |
The aim of the
project is to improve the level of laboratory performance in government
facilities by assisting in training and improving quality control
measures.
The project was initialized in 2004, and has
directly impacted
the skills and expertise of the 10 lab workers in Jibla 'Peace' Hospital
and approximately 4 lab workers at an unofficial consultancy but in the
long term, should benefit all patients that are examined by laboratory
tests at any hospital that is involved.
It is planned that the project
should extend to at least 4 government run hospitals in these areas.
